Editing a Medication, Renewing a Prescription

Select the medication in the list.

Modify the item of interest. The drug name cannot be modified with a drug edit, though dose and other specifics can be.

To renew a script, just tap on the New Prescription item. Hit Save if the specifics are not changed, or modify the desired items.

Select Print to mark the script to be uploaded for printing, select Call to have the iPhone dial the pharmacy selected. Select eScript to mark the script to be uploaded and transferred to the selected pharmacy electronically (requires upgrade to ePrescribing service).

Select a Pharmacy, used when using the Call or eScript option.

If the patient for which the script is being written has a zip code entered in their patient data file, then the Pharmacy browser will automatically use this to display a list of local pharmacies. This list may be appended via the green plus button shown above. The user can also tap the zip code text box to modify the search zip code.

Signature on File. To upload your signature to be used on outgoing eScripts, select the Signed item in the list.

Next use your finger to sign you first and last name. The signature will be reproduced in a scaled down as part of the eScript transmission. Tap the eraser button at the center top to delete the entry. Upon the next sync the signature will be uploaded. You can update the signature anytime, the most recent copy is stored at the iChart data-center and is used for eScripts only.

The drug history is updated after any new activity on a drug, as shown below.
